BioBlitz at Eagle Creek Park

BioBlitz at Eagle Creek Park

More About BioBlitz at Eagle Creek Park

A BioBlitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species of living things at a certain location during a designated time. During the first weekend in June, scientists from all over Indiana will be in the fields, forests, wetlands, and streams of Eagle Creek Park documenting all of the plants, animals, and fungi they find. By the end of the weekend, we will have a better idea of all of the species that call Eagle Creek Park home.

During this event, families and adults will have the opportunity to learn about "citizen science" and how to get involved helping scientists. There are many great apps and websites that can assist you. Join us at the Earth Discovery Center to find out more!

There will also be opportunities for families and adults to try out what it is like to study plants and animals through a variety of techniques. Please see our schedule of programming for the day, including an opportunity to meet a scientist and learn what they have discovered during their time in Eagle Creek Park. Free!
