More About Monument Circle Tours - TBD

Update: June 3, 2020
To help slow the potential spread of COVID-19, all Indiana Landmarks offices and properties remain closed to the public until at least July 4. In addition, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the majority of Indiana Landmarks-sponsored events and tours for the remainder of 2020. Even as the state begins to lift restrictions, we believe protecting the health and safety of our staff, visitors, and guests should remain paramount. You can check the status of previously scheduled events on our calendar page.

Our Indianapolis tours of Monument Circle, the Athenaeum, and the City Market Catacombs are currently scheduled to resume in July, but the status is subject to change per updated regulations and guidelines aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19.

Indiana Landmarks’ free walking tour explores Monument Circle at the heart of Indianapolis, telling the story of the Circle from the original plan — the Governor’s home was supposed to sit in the center — to the scene you see today. You’ll hear about the Monument and the surrounding buildings, with pointers from Indiana Landmarks’ expert guides to fun details you might miss.

Saturdays, May through October, at 10am. The one hour tour departs from South Bend Chocolate Company at 30 Monument Circle.

FREE - No reservation required. No tour if it’s raining cats and dogs.

Wear comfortable shoes. The tour is accessible for people using wheelchairs.

Parking: If you have good parking karma, hunt for a spot on the street, or choose one of the parking garages close to the Circle, in the flanking blocks on Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Ohio streets. If you’re price conscious, park in the Circle Centre garage, entering on the south side of Washington Street just west of Meridian Street.
