The beloved Maryland Symphony Orchestra presents a program celebrating the American spirit, including the works of James Kimo Williams, Florence Beatrice Price and Antonín Dvořák’s timeless “New World Symphony.” The event will include a pre-show flag dedication ceremony conducted by the Vietnam Veterans Association Chapter No. 172.

Ticket holders are encouraged to attend a free pre-show lecture at 2 p.m. with Ms. Schulze, who will discuss the musical works to be performed. Community members are also invited to observe as MSO musicians lead a 3 p.m. master class with student musicians of cello and flute on Wed. Oct. 16 in the Pealer Recital Hall. Each year, the Cultural Events Series (CES) at Frostburg State University brings prestigious national and international performing artists to the tri-state community. The annual presenting series includes diverse genres of music, dance, comedy and theatre. Fun events such as workshops, masterclasses, lectures and school-day programs are scheduled to complement performances.
