More About Blender (computer program) Class: Color Keying - The Inventor Center

Color Keying is the process of shooting video with actors in front of a solid color screen and then replacing the colored background with a different background. The most common example of Color Keying is a weather forecaster in front of a green screen which is replaced with various weather maps in real time. In Blender, the program we will be using for class, we will not be editing images or video in real time. This allows us to create very high-quality images.

You need to bring:
1. A laptop with Blender downloaded
2. A mouse with a scroll button

The class will cover:
• How to shoot footage for color keying
• Converting video footage to an image sequences
• Setting up Blender for color keying
• Building a node system for compositing
• Creating and Animating Garbage and Inclusion Masks
• Light Wrapping
• Faking an animated pulled focus

We will meet from 10:00 a.m. To 3:00 p.m. with an hour break for lunch.

Cost: $40 (we can only accept cash at this time)
