The La Porte Park and Recreation Department’s Ballroom Dance classes begin Thursday, April 12. Patty Kolvek, owner of Dance Sophisticates in La Porte, will be leading the class as you learn the West Coast Swing and the Tango. The six-week class is held in the lower level of the Civic Auditorium from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Class fee is $70/couple or $35/single. All skill levels are welcome!
Gift certificates are also available. Pre-registration is required at the Park Department’s office, 250 Pine Lake Avenue, or by calling 219-326-9600 with your credit card information. The La Porte Park and Recreation Department has a variety of indoor and outdoor activities sure to interest a wide range of ages.

Our department includes 16 parks just right for relaxing, recreation, family gatherings, concerts and special events, such as our annual Winter Fest and Night Bike Ride. We also operate Beechwood Golf Course, Civic Auditorium and Stone Lake Beach. We offer a variety of programs, from youth sports, enrichment opportunities, and exercise classes.
