La Porte Chamber Job Hiring Event

La Porte Chamber Job Hiring Event

More About La Porte Chamber Job Hiring Event

Join the La Porte Chamber for a Community Hiring Event on May 16! The event will take place at the La Porte Civic Auditorium, 1001 Ridge Street, from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

The greater community will be invited to this event to learn about positions and careers in our local area. We will be working with our local schools to have soon-to-be graduates attend so they can find out about terrific career opportunities awaiting them after graduation or further training. We will have other students there as well who will be looking for summer work, internships, or apprenticeships that can help them gain valuable workplace skills. Businesses will be able to provide information about their organizations, and we also hope they consider hiring qualified candidates at the event itself.

To participate as a business, please contact the Chamber at gesse@lpchamber.com or 219.362.3178. At this event, you will be provided with one table to set your display or information on and two chairs.

Community members do not need to register for this event.

This event has been facilitated from the La Porte Chamber’s Workforce Task Force. The goal of this Hiring Event is to bring the available positions in the community to the forefront and to showcase what skills are needed for these positions. It is our hope that in doing so, we can bridge the gap between our schools, community leaders, and businesses to create a better pipeline of qualified talent to our local companies. The ultimate mission of our group is to fill every open position in La Porte County!

We ask that employers bring:
-A list of available positions at your company for display to attendees, highlighting desired skills
-An HR representative to conduct interviews on the spot (if desired for your company)
We ask that community attendees and students bring:
-Resumes
-A prepared and open mindset to discuss your skills and career interests
