More About Max Kade Film Series at the Athenaeum
Join us on March 23 from 7 PM - 8:30 PM to view the 1950 American film noir Sunset Boulevard, the second film of our Max Kade Film Series. The Max Kade Film Series is presented in partnership with the Max Kade German-American Center and seeks to celebrate German storytelling through film.

In Hollywood of the 50’s, the obscure screenplay writer Joe Gillis is not able to sell his work to the studios, is full of debts and is thinking in returning to his hometown. He is hired to rework a faded silent film star’s script, only to find himself developing a dangerous relationship.
Sunset Boulevard is directed and co-written by Billy Wilder, and produced and co-written by Charles Brackett.
