More About Music at the Market

FREE LIVE MUSIC EVENT on Thursday, September 19. Join us at the Goodlettsville Farmer's Market for a great night of local music as we celebrate the opening of the new Gateway to Music Exhibit inside the Goodlettsville Visitor's Center. Entertainment provided by Leroy Troy, a Goodlettsville native who has been playing banjo since he was a young lad and plays all over the world, and Rockland Road, a multi-instrumental family band with deep music heritage who plays all over the country.

This event will be held outdoors on the lawn beside the Goodlettsville Visitor's Center and behind the Farmer's Market. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of free music. The Farmer's Market will be open until 7:00 so plan to purchase your baked goods, produce, and beef, pork, or chicken for the week (bring a cooler to store your purchases if needed). Parking is available at Moss-Wright Park with easy sidewalk access at the back of the Visitor's Center.

More About this Event Poster: Historic Mansker's Station

Historic Mansker's Station consists of a reproduction 1779 log station and the Bowen Plantation House, said to be the longest standing brick structure in Middle Tennessee.

Tours of both sites are conducted Monday thru Friday from 9:00am - 3:00pm. During the tour, costumed interpreters allow visitors to experience both life on the frontier and life on a plantation. Tours are self paced with an interpreter as the guide and typically last around an hour. We pride ourselves on a hands on educational approach that is applied to visitors of all ages.

School groups are offered from February thru December. These tours are tied to the current State of Tennessee approved curriculum.
