About Maricopa Wells Middle School

Saturday, September 16th, 2017 is the 10th annual “Kids Day Maricopa” The event promotes Health, Safety, and Environmental Awareness. Dr John A. Donohue will be hosting and coordinating the event from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at Maricopa Wells Middle School 45725 W Honeycutt Ave, Maricopa, AZ 85139. The Mayor signed a proclamation dedicating the 3rd Sat of Sept. as “Kids Day” in the City of Maricopa. Mayor Christian Price, Senator Steve Smith, Ak-Chin Chairman Robert Miguel and Pinal County Supervisor Anthony Smith are speaking at the event (schedule permitting).

The event will provide essential information on crime prevention, child safety, wellness and environmental awareness. The Maricopa Police Department will be on hand to provide FREE fingerprinting of all the children and bring Police cars, Police motorcycles and the K-9 Dog Unit. There will be special appearances by “Smokey Bear”, McGruff the Crime Dog, Pikachu and other loved characters. The Maricopa Fire Department is bringing a fire truck. Ak-Chin Fire will provide car seat safety checks, diabetes prevention and health awareness. Copper Sky will be teaching water safety. There will be Bicycle safety with the Lions Club, Drug Awareness with the Be Awesome Coalition, Pinal County Attorney and Pinal County Sheriff’s Dept. Healthy Eating and Exercise will be taught. Learn how to grow your own garden with the Master Gardeners and Ace Hardware. ATA Kids Karate, D.S.P.A. Dance, Rock Star Gymnastics and Karate Charlie will perform, plus many more activities such as the Phoenix First Tee and Southern Dunes golf program, the 4H petting zoo and so much more. “We provide Free food, Free drink and Free balloons for everyone. There will be special Give-aways and Free prize drawings of toys, bicycles and other exciting surprises throughout the event.

The event is Free, and especially exciting with The AZ Coyotes “Howler” visiting, Laura Walsh performing and Maricopa’s Finest presenting Sgt, Pepper and Goober’s Stranger Danger clown show “ We encourage the entire community to join Dr. John & May by participating in this unique, fun-filled community event!” It will improve your family’s life!
