More About Basic Training and Tricks for Dogs to be offered in McHenry

McHenry, MD – Garrett College Continuing Education and Workforce Development will be offering a course, Basic Training and Tricks for Dogs, at the McHenry main campus, on Wednesdays, March 7 to April 4, 6:45 to 7:30 p.m.

Basic Training and Tricks will be a course for both the puppy and the seasoned dog. The obedience trainer will hold both a group training and individual training within this course. Therefore, any level your dog is entering the class, they will leave with advancement within their skill set.

The basic commands will be taught/reviewed such as sit, stay, leave it, come, wait, and drop. Also we will introduce a new trick each class and the obedience trainer will go step by step on how to carry it out. Common dog behavior questions are answered during each class as well.

Owners will walk away with a training manual they can refer to during the class and beyond. Group setting provides the best opportunity for dogs and owners to learn from each other. All dogs that enter this class are guaranteed to have their skills improved over this jammed packed, dog improvement five week course!

This course is taught by a Certified Pet First Aid and CPR responder Debbie Daniels. She grew up around animals, worked in a vet hospital for year, and now is the owner of her own business, Your Happy Tails, LLC., located in Garrett County.

For additional information contact, Terry Beachy, Northern Outreach Center Coordinator, by calling 301-895-4700 or terry.beachy@garrettcollege.edu. To register for this course, contact the Continuing Education and Workforce Development at 301-387-3069.
