More About Young Professionals of Union County - How to Be a Good Nonprofit Board Member

Young Professionals of Union County --
Do you want to serve on a nonprofit board?
Do you want to be a more effective board member?

Serving as a nonprofit board member can be a challenging but rewarding experience. There are many nonprofit boards in Union County that need you – and want you!

Join fellow YPUC members at this special training session to learn about the roles and responsibilities of board volunteers – and how you can serve more effectively as a board member.

The Union County Chamber and United Way of Central Carolinas are partnering to bring this special training to you. Our facilitator will be Donna Dunlap, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Charlotte.

The event is FREE; however, seats are limited so registration is required.

Donna Dunlap joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Charlotte (BBBS) as the Chief Executive Officer February 16, 2016. She has over 30 years of not for profit board and for profit leadership experience. As CEO for Big Brothers Big Sisters her mission is to enable the organization to provide purposeful one to one mentoring to youth who are facing adversity ages 5-17 to help change their lives for the better forever. The organization’s measurable, positive outcomes such as elevated school performance, improved behaviors and enhanced self-confidence motivate children to achieve success.

Donna attended Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia where she earned a BA in Psychology. She also attended the University of Connecticut where she earned her masters degree in Business Administration and was selected as a University Fellow.
