BECOME A MASTER GARDENER in Hampton, Newport News, Gloucester, and York/Poquoson
MASTER GARDENERS are volunteers who assist their local Cooperative Extension Offices in educating the public in general gardening practices as well as the proper use of pesticides and fertilizers. To become a Master Gardener, an individual must complete 50 hours of horticulture instruction and return an equal number of hours (50) as a Master Gardener volunteer.

In-Person Course
September 3 – November 13, 2019
Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 a.m. until noon plus 3 Saturdays

Lessons On-line; Wednesday evening sessions (6:15pm – 7:45pm) + 3 Saturdays

Course Fee: $160.
(Course fee for two students in the same household sharing book is $260.) Notice: Returned Check Fee is $50.
Fees associated with this course will cover handbook, other materials, and background check*.
NOTE: Course workload (both versions) is equivalent to 50-60 hours + preparation time.

Training Course Policies:
• All classes should be attended, except as prearranged or for medical reasons. Alternative methods are available to make up any missed classes.
