Krislund Traveling Day Camp

More About Krislund Traveling Day Camp

Traveling Day Cam is open to any youth caper that has completed Kindergarden through 8th grade at a total week cost of $30/camper. This cost includes lunches, snacks and the total Day Camp Experience brought to Newville on Monday through Wednesday and than an optional resident camp experience at Krislund's Camp in Madisonburg, PA (Center County) on Thursday into Friday (transportation included). All activities and programing are led and directed by Krislund Camp and Conference Center staff members. Local support by the two churches will provide adult and high school student assistance to the Krislund staff as well as the meals during the week and the transportation to/from Madisonburg PA on Thursday and Friday. All volunteers and staff will have all required background checks and clearances.
The theme of 2018 Traveling Day Camp is "The ONE". ONE moment can define history. ONE decision can change a life. ONE person can start a movement. The power of ONE resounds throughout scripture and by studying ONE, campers will travel through the Word to discover a powerful message that God has for them. Adventure Awaits will inhabit the ideas of both Indiana Jones and Jumanji. Campers are divided into two teams, Alpha (red) and Omega (blue), and throughout the week will compete in friendly, daily challenges, including camp-wide big group games and other fun activities. On Thursday evening, the teams gather for the Great Feast. This medieval-style banquet, the most anticipated event of the week, includes costumes, dinner, games, humor, and dancing. Optional Day Care for campers who need it will be offered from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. at no additional charge. There will be a family night on Tuesday for the parents to meet the camp staff in preparation for their off-site camp experience on Thursday and Friday at Camp Krislund. At Camp Krislund the campers will experience archery, climbing wall, zip-line, swimming, cap fire, and other resident camp experiences. Scholarships will be available based on financial need.
