Historical Society of Montgomery County was established in 1881 and incorporated in 1884. The Historical Society of Montgomery County is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt charitable organization, registered with the Pennsylvania Department of State Bureau of Charitable Organizations. The Historical Society is also a member of American Association of State and Local History, the Alliance of Pennsylvania County Historical Societies and the Pennsylvania Federation of Museums and Historical Organizations.
