More About Whose Legacy Do We Celebrate On October 14? Program

A screening of the short documentary “Columbus Day Legacy” will be featured at the open program of the Humanists and Freethinkers of Fairfield County (HFFC) on Monday evening, October 14. In the film the Navajo filmmaker Bernie Klain uses the Columbus Day parade controversy in Denver, Colorado, to ask tough questions about identity and history in America. After the film, we will have a moderated discussion of the competing claims of ethnic pride of Italian-Americans and Indigenous Peoples and other issues the film raises.

The meeting, Monday October 14 (6 pm social hour; 7 pm program), at the Silver Star Diner in Norwalk, is free and open to all. RSVP is recommended by email to hffc@optimum.net (subject: Oct 14) or at click for details
