Everett Lions Club Night of Racing fundraiser

Everett Lions Club will sponsor a Night of Racing fundraiser to support the Weicht/Hartsock Medal of Honor statue on the corner of Main and Hopewell streets. The races will take place on Oct. 15 at Down River Golf Course beginning at 7 p.m. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for anyone wishing to eat beforehand. There will be 10 races and a special auction race, all previously recorded around the country and shown on video screens. Participants can “buy” and name a horse for $25. Horse tickets get one admission to the event. Jockeys are also available for sale for $25, although seating is limited for the ticket. Horse and jockey ticket holders win $50. During the event, attendees can bet a minimum of $2 per race on their favorite horse or horses in the lineup, with cash prizes for the winners. The Lions are also seeking program business and individual patrons for $10 to support the statue project, and horse and jockey sponsors are available for $50.
