About Park Ridge Civic Orchestra

Now in its third decade, the Park Ridge Civic Orchestra (PRCO) has evolved from a group of dedicated volunteers to a dynamic professional ensemble. Chicago’s top performers and Park Ridge's finest instrumentalists form the 70-member symphony led by Music Director Victor Muenzer, playing a variety of genres from movie themes to Mahler, and all at the highest quality.

Blending audience favorites of popular and core classics, PRCO concerts appeal to a wide range of musical tastes. The Halloween concert for all ages opens each season, followed by a festive program to kick off the holidays. Winter concerts feature classical inspirations with renowned soloists, and special events combine fun and creative ways to support the orchestra.

Emphasis on students has been a hallmark of PRCO’s engaging the community in its programming. Offering students the opportunity to play on stage with the orchestra, visiting the schools with mentoring workshops, and awarding scholarships for musical studies are among the many ways the PRCO brings the thrill of live performance to young people.

A unique performing venue, the Pickwick Theatre (on the National Register of Historic Places), serves as the orchestra's concert home. Amenities of free parking, low ticket prices, abundant dining options, Metra/CTA nearby, and free admission to students for most concerts, the PRCO has earned a special place in the cultural life of Park Ridge and the greater Chicagoland area
