More About Concert In Greenwood

On Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 5pm, Greater Greenwood Community Band is providing a "Back Home In Indiana" concert loaded with music by Indiana natives. After a pandemic postponement, the group has been rehearsing outdoors and maintaining social distancing while preparing for this concert in the Greenwood amphitheater.

Although September was originally slated to have its annual Children's Concert on a Sunday, necessary adjustments required resetting the theme and moving the concert to Saturday. Conducted by band Director Randy Greenwell, music selections for the 9/26 concert in the park will include compositions by our state's composers and musicians including Richard Saucedo, Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael, and arrangements including "Gabriel's Oboe", "Way Back Home In Indiana", "March Indiana State Band", plus medleys of Michael Jackson and John Mellencamp tunes.

This is your chance to get outdoors and enjoy live entertainment in the park again. All groups of guests are asked to follow social distancing guidelines by sitting at least 6 feet apart on the lawn. Please wear a mask and bring your own refreshments.

Greater Greenwood Community Band is an adult not-for-profit 80+ piece adult ensemble of volunteer instrumentalists. Established in 1993 and performing around than a dozen concerts annually. For further details about the organization and to join the mailing list, visit the group’s website, click for details.

Bring friends and family to enjoy an entertaining hour of live music on stage. Donations to help support the band are greatly appreciated, but, as always, admission is free!
