19th Annual Newtown Lions Club Duck Race

More About 19th Annual Newtown Lions Club Duck Race

The 19th Annual Newtown Lions Club Duck Race will be held on Saturday, May 25th in Sandy Hook, CT. The year's event is proudly supported by Norcom's Mortgage Force and the Newtown United Methodist Church to benefit the many Newtown Lions Club charitable contributions.

The event runs from 10 am until 2:30 pm at which time the rubber ducks will be lauched into the Pootatuck river from the bridge in Sandy Hook. The first 20 ducks to cross the finish line will win prizes that total nearly $4,700. The top prize is a cash prize of $2,000 with a 2nd prize of $500.

This year's event promises plenty of family fun: two bounce houses and a slide, face painting, duck race souvenirs for kids, as well as entertainment, exhibitors, and food for all ages. The Newtown Lions are making an extra effort to have more games and activities for children this year.

Duck Race tickets are being sold for $5 each at a number of businesses in Newtown and Sandy Hook and the Newtown Lions will sell tickets outside a number of local Newtown establishments during April and May. Tickets will also be on sale at the May 25th event.
