More About Let's Go Birding Together: Pride Month Birding Tour
In honor of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, join Audubon staff for a special birding tour and celebration of diversity and inclusion of both birds and people. You will learn about the many colorful birds that call Audubon Greenwich home and go for a leisurely walk through our fields, orchards and woods to see many of them up close. Just as all of these birds and wildlife are welcome in our sanctuary so are all people!
The arrival of June marks Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month, usually just shortened to Pride Month. Celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, and, in the case of Audubon, bird walks. Our Let's Go Birding Together series was founded and organized by Jason St. Sauver, Community Education director at Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center in Denton, Nebraska. Other Audubon sites across the country have joined Jason in creating inclusive birding events.
Let's Go Birding Together walks are for everyone who loves birds and the outdoors. We welcome those who identify as LGBTQ, allies, families, and anyone who wants to enjoy an outdoor experience that is inclusive. Why do we do this? Because the outdoors has not always been a welcoming place for LGBTQ people and Audubon wants help change that. For more information visit Click for Details
