Students, join Roan Mountain State Park staff for 4 hours of volunteering toward fulfilling your Tennessee Promise. Meet at the Park Conference Center at 9:30 AM to check in and plan to work from 10 AM until noon, break for lunch until 1 PM, then get back to work until 3 PM.

Volunteers will be removing litter and invasive plant species from along the banks of the Doe River through the park. Please wear clothing you don't mind getting wet and dirty, shoes you can wear INTO the water, and your own snacks and drinking water. Boots, tennis shoes, water shoes, or sandals with ankle straps are acceptable-- NO bare feet or flip-flops allowed. You may also want to bring sunscreen, a hat, a towel and a dry set of clothes and shoes to change into afterward. Lunch is not provided-- please pack a picnic lunch to enjoy in the park, or be prepared to purchase from local restaraunts.
