Join Fairytale Town for the 19th annual ScholarShare Children’s Book Festival, the largest early childhood literacy event in the Sacramento region! Enjoy back-to-back readings and presentations from featured authors and illustrators on the Mother Goose Stage, then shop at our official bookseller, Time Tested Books booth, to purchase your favorite story. Authors and illustrators will be available to sign books immediately following their presentations.

Eric Litwin, the bestselling author of the original four Pete the Cat books, The Nuts and Groovy Joe, will headline this year’s Festival! Eric’s books have sold over 12.5 million copies, been translated into 17 languages, and won 26 literacy awards including a Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor Award.

The festival also features storytelling performances, hands-on literacy activities, a Scholastic book fair and more! Plus literacy and arts organizations will be on hand to provide information about early childhood literacy programs offered in the region.

Admission to this two-day festival is Free thanks to the generous support of ScholarShare 529 College Savings Plan.

Please note:

The ScholarShare Children’s Book Festival is Saturday & Sunday, September 21 & 22, from 10 AM – 4 PM
Adults must be accompanied by children and children must be accompanied by adults in order to gain admittance to the park.
Both days of the Festival will be ASL interpreted.
