2018 Dyer Summer Camps

Toddler Time 6/13 - 7/18 (Off 7/4)
Parents or caregivers, join us during this hands-on camp that was created especially for children ages 18 months - 3 yrs. old. You and your child will join other families as they are introduced to interactive stories, nature, new friends, music, crafts and special guests. Special guests will include the Dyer Police Dept., Dyer Fire Dept, and Public Works Dept. During this 5 week camp, we will work on colors, numbers, basic sign language and take a special field trip to FunFlatables too.
Ages: 18 months - 3 years old
Day/Time: Wednesdays, 9:15 am - 10:00 am
Location: Elmer Miller Park (behind Dyer Town Hall)
Fee: $45.00

Kiddy Kamp 6/11 - 7/19 (Off 7/4)
Children ages 3-5 years old will be introduced to new friends, fun, sports, music, crafts, new games, songs and basic sign language. Hands-on activities are presented daily along with visits from the following list of special guests: The Dyer Police Dept., Dyer Fire Dept., Dyer Public Works Dept., Lake County Solid Waste Dept., Enbridge and the Tooth Fairy. We will also have a water day/s and take field trips to Stardust Bowl, Texas Roadhouse and FunFlatables. No extra fees for trips! All participants will receive a t-shirt and must be potty trained. Children must wear gym shoes and bring a fresh water bottle, with their name on it, on all camp days. The registration deadline is June 8th.

Outside Adventurers 6/11 - 7/19 (Off 7/4)
Participant’s ages 6-10 yrs. old will enjoy this time as they play new games, learn camp songs, make special crafts, and enjoy water day/s and field trips to Funflatables, Texas Roadhouse and Stardust Bowl. No extra fees for trips! The Dyer Police Dept., Dyer Fire Dept., Dyer Public Works Dept., Lake County Solid Waste Dept., Enbridge and the Tooth Fairy are all part of our special guest participation days. With all of the activities planned and in order to be safe, children must wear gym shoes on camp days. Please don’t forget to send a fresh water bottle, with their name on it, on camp days. All participants will receive a t-shirt. The Olympic Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 19 at 12:45 pm. Please mark your calendars in order to attend.

Tiny Tot Sports Camp - Thursdays, 6/14 - 7/19
This camp is geared towards the active 3 year old (must be 3 by 6/14). During this six week summer camp, participants will be introduced to various sports including: soccer, basketball, tee ball, tennis and bowling. On the last day of camp, an obstacle course will be set up for all to enjoy. Each week, the basics of each sport will be taught in an entertaining and educational environment. Children should bring water bottles each week and participants must wear gym shoes to every class. Registration deadline is June 12th. Picture Day will be held on June 21st. Please arrive 15min prior to the start of class.

Tee 3 - Thursdays, 6/14 - 7/19
Tee 3 is Tee Ball for 3 year olds, MUST BE 3 BY 6/14 . This program is designed to teach the basics of tee ball to 3 year old boys & girls. Games will not be played as this is strictly an instructional skill program. Skills to be covered are: stepping and throwing, catching, hitting off a tee, running the bases and more. Mitts won’t be used as we’ll play with a rag ball. Participants must wear gym shoes to every class. Registration deadline is June 12th. In order for this program to run smoothly, volunteer parent coaches are needed. Picture Day will be held on June 28th. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of tee ball.

Soccer Buddies - Tuesdays, 6/12 – 7/17
During this introductory soccer program, boys & girls ages 4 & 5 yrs. old will practice skill development and teamwork. Soccer skills will be practiced and improved upon using various drills and techniques. Participants should wear shin guards and bring a water bottle to each class. Participants must wear shoes to every class. Registration deadline is June 8th. Picture day will be held on Tuesday, June 19th. Please arrive 15 min. prior to the start of this program.

Day/Time: Tuesdays, 10:00 am - 10:45 am
Location: Northgate Park (Field East of tennis courts)

Tee Ball – Mondays & Wednesdays 6/11 – 7/18 (Off 7/4)
This introductory Tee Ball program for 4 & 5 year old boys & girls will emphasize instruction and teamwork. Participants will work on catching, throwing, ground balls, & running the bases. After these basics are established, batting will be introduced in a safe, proper and encouraging manor. Once games begin, scores will not be kept and every child will run, bat or field each inning. Mitts won't be necessary as we'll play with a rag ball. Participants must wear gym shoes to every class. Registration deadline is June 8th if spots still remain. Parent coaches are needed Picture Day will be held on June 18th. Please arrive 15 min prior to the start of tee ball.

Day/Time: Mondays & Wednesdays, 6:15 pm – 7:15 pm

Sporties for Shorties – Thursdays, 6/14 – 7/19
During this six week program, participants will be introduced to various sports including: soccer, basketball, tee ball, tennis, and bowling. On the last day of camp, an obstacle course will be set up for all to enjoy. Knowledge of the game and sportsmanship-like play will be taught in an entertaining and educational way. Please wear gym shoes and bring a water bottle to each class. Sign your active youngster up before the June 12th registration deadline. Picture day will be held on Thursday, June 21st. Please arrive 15 min. prior to the start of this program.

Preschool Drawing – Tuesdays, 6/12 – 7/3
Young Rembrandts provides a nurturing and strong learning environment that expands Preschoolers' image vocabulary as they draw familiar images such as fish, teddy bears, rainbows and cowboys. We’ll concentrate on the skills of drawing and coloring while we develop fine motor skills, focus, listening, staying on task, patience and spatial organization.
