Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. cordially invites Hammond children, ages 6-11, to enjoy the City of Hammond’s Summer Recreation program. The fun will begin June 11 and go through July 13, weather permitting. This five week program will run Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - noon. Proof of residency is required via a valid IN driver’s license with your Hammond address or a valid State of IN ID. A birth certificate is needed for each child. Registration is available at the Hammond Civic Center (5825 Sohl) and the Jean Shepherd Community Center (3031 J.F. Mahoney Drive). There will be NO onsite registration. Hammond Parks & Recreation is not responsible for any child that is not a registered participant.

Registration: May 4 – June 4 costs $20 per child, cash or credit cards accepted.

There will be a required minimum of 10 children and a maximum of 50 children.

The site location is: Columbia Park, Columbia Avenue & Michigan Street.

Children will be in a supervised day camp setting with sports equipment, games and arts & crafts. Breakfast is provided at no charge by the School City of Hammond from 9am until 10am. For more information, call 853-6378 or visit the Hammond Civic Center.
