Good Beginnings Last a Lifetime: The Children’s School Hosts Open Houses

The Children’s School, an independent primary school in Stamford serving children ages 3 to 8, will be hosting an Open House on Friday, December 6, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The School invites you to observe how its artful teachers make learning joyful for young children. Visit our classrooms and see how the School’s social environment and curriculum optimize the development of hearts and minds during these vital early years. Our teachers reach children through a combination of evidence-based pedagogical techniques and a thorough grasp of their needs at each stage of development. With a program individualized to each child, students develop a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy as well as an appreciation for creative expression and a deep respect for the unique gifts of others. Children leave our classrooms every day eager to seek out new knowledge and skills and with a better understanding of what it means to be a friend—habits of heart and mind that will serve them far beyond their time at the School.

Devoted to early childhood education for more than 55 years, The Children’s School’s mission has always been to take children and their innate potential seriously. Head of school Maureen Murphy shares: “With our expertise in what makes children bloom, we have created a warm yet stimulating environment that invites children to discover what piques their interest, develop their skills and find a home in their curiosity and imagination, which are pivotal to learning. During their time with us, children are taught the important values of respect and care for oneself, for others and for the world beyond our campus.”
