The Friends of The Ferguson Library and the Mystery Writers of America/New York Chapter are teaming up to host CrimeCONN 2018, a one-day mystery lovers’ conference, Saturday, June 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Ernest A. DiMattia, Jr. Building of The Ferguson Library. The event is aimed at readers and writers at all levels, and will include panels on forensics and law enforcement, mystery writing for the big and small screen, and a behind-the-scenes look into craft and publishing.

Early Bird registration is $30 per person before May 25. After May 25, registration will be $45 per person; $35 for MWA members, Friends members, seniors and students. (Light breakfast and lunch included.) Register online at

The theme of CrimeCONN 2018 is Keeping It Real: Information, Entertainment and Inspiration from Deep Inside The Mystery World. The conference will enrich readers, aspiring writers and professional writers alike. Panel topics include: forensics and law enforcement experts sharing their insights, mystery writing for the big and little screen, and a behind-the-scenes look into the writer’s craft and modern publishing. Speakers include James Benn, Michelle Clark, Jane Cleland, David Handler, Dr. Kristen Hartnett-McCann, Chris Knopf, Gina Panettieri, S.J. Rozan, Charles Salzberg, Tom Straw, Katie Torpey and John B. Valeri.

Panel discussions, interviews with celebrity authors, book signings and audience participation are included in this action-packed day.
