Sudbury Senior Center

PRESS RELEASE

From: Sharon K. Wilkes

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- post on 3/26/20

Due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, we regret to say that the Sudbury Senior Center has cancelled all programs, classes and events and the Sudbury Senior Center is closed until further notice.

Staying home and away from crowds will help to reduce your risk of both catching and spreading the virus. Most people who get the virus will be mild to moderately sick, but those who are older, or who have chronic illnesses and reduced immune systems, are at higher risk of being more seriously affected.

The Senior Center staff will respond to phone calls and emails, though we may not be able to respond immediately. Please feel free to contact us with questions or concerns at 978-443-3055 or senior@sudbury.ma.us. You may also check our website at click for details and the Town website at click for details for up to date information. We wish you good health.

Volunteer Opportunities

FISH Volunteers

FISH (Friends in Services Helping) is a volunteer program that provides transportation for Sudbury residents to medical appointments, when their family and friends are not available. Volunteers drive residents to appointments when it fits into their schedule. There is no monthly or weekly requirement.

F.I.S.H. is a great way to help your neighbors in need. If you would like to apply to become a volunteer driver, please call Janet Lipkin at the Sudbury Senior Center at 978-639-3223 or email LipkinJ@sudbury.ma.us.

Fix- It Volunteers

The Sudbury Senior Center needs volunteers that are able to do simple home repairs like changing light bulbs, replacing batteries in smoke detectors, and installing grab bars. If you are interested in any of the volunteering opportunities, please contact Janet Lipkin, Volunteer Program Coordinator, at 978-639-3223 or email LipkinJ@sudbury.ma.us .

Trip Co-Coordinators

The Senior Center wishes to thank Joe Bausk and Joanne Bennett for their years of service as Trips Coordinators for the Sudbury Senior Center! Joe and Joanne are hanging up their Coordinators hats to move on to other activities. If you would like to apply to be a Trips Co-Coordinator, please contact the Senior Center at 978-443-3055 or email senior@sudbury.ma.us.
