More About Update - Sudbury Senior Center

Hello All-

All of us at the Senior Center continue to work hard at developing programs and services that we can share with you via the internet, SudburyTV, or other means. We are also planning on how and when we may reopen the Senior Center safely.

We expect to re-open with safety restrictions in place and we are already working on plans, as well as seeking guidance from the CDC, Governor Baker, the Mass. Councils on Aging, and the Sudbury Board of Health. Re-opening will take place in a careful and considered time frame to maximize safety.

In the meantime, we hope to expand some of our community services in a safe way in the coming weeks. Please feel free to email or call us to let us know what services you need. Or if you know someone in need of help, encourage them to contact us at 978-443-3055 or senior@sudbury.ma.us.

New Information is Listed First:

Voting
The Annual Town Election will be held on June 23. Following the guidance of a new State law, the Town Clerk's office is able to approve Absentee ballots for people who are seeking to protect themselves from possible COVID-19 exposure. Please see details at the Town Clerk's webpage.

Absentee ballot applications for the June 23 Annual Town Election are available on the Town website at Absentee Ballot application. This is the quickest way to get one. You must print out the application, complete and mail it in to the Town Clerk first and then a ballot will be mailed to your address. You should do this soon, to allow time for all of the mailings.

If you cannot access the application on the Town website, you can contact the Town Clerk's office at townclerk@sudbury.ma.us or 978-639-3351 to ask for an application to be mailed to you. You will need to mail back the application before a ballot can be sent to your address. Please do this soon, to allow time for all of the mailings.

There are two steps involved in signing up. 1) You must sign up for the class by emailing the Senior Center by May 14. 2) If you would like to get a book, you must send a check per the directions below.

2) To order the Great Decisions book that goes along with the classes, you must send your check to the Sudbury Senior Center, payable to "Town of Sudbury" for $30 per book so that the Senior Center staff can order the books. For information, see the Foreign Policy website at click for details.

Town Information and Updates

Please visit the Town website often for new information about the Coronavirus response from the Sudbury Board of Health and other Town Department news. Our new Town Manager Henry Hayes is posting weekly videos, called "Municipal Minute", to include town information, as well as short videos from Town Departments. Go to Municipal Minute.

All of us at the Senior Center are hoping that you are healthy and staying safe. We miss seeing you and talking to you on the phone! As you know, the Senior Center and Town offices remain closed to the public and the Senior Center staff are working remotely to minimize risk of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Although this is challenging, we encourage you to continue to do the same. Please contact us if you need assistance, or just need to talk.

Please reach out to us at 978-443-3055 or senior@sudbury.ma.us. We will return your calls and emails.

Stay well,
Your Sudbury Senior Center Staff
