More About Cowboy Block Parties
LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese Cowboy Block Parties are back and will be bigger and better than ever.
Presented by the McNeese Athletic Foundation and sponsored by Lake Charles Toyota and Legacy Jewelers, the free block parties will be held every Friday night prior to home Cowboy football games at The Grove near the Robert Noland Alumni Pavilion. It's BYOB, free parking and with a variety of food trucks on hand selling some of their tastiest treats Southwest Louisiana has to offer.
"We're excited to once again provide this entertainment for our fans, alumni, boosters, and whoever wants to come out and have a great time," said McNeese Director of Athletics Heath Schroyer. "This is just a part of what's going to be the Greatest Tailgate and Pregame Experience in all of FCS Football!"
The block party will kick-off on Friday, September 16 with the Chee Weez. Gates will open at 6 p.m. with the party getting started at 7. On Sept. 23, Three Thirty Seven will entertain the crowd. Band of Heathens will take the stage on Oct. 14 followed by world renowned and Grammy winning artist Wayne Toups on Oct. 28, homecoming weekend. Hair metal cover band LA Roxx will perform on Nov. 4 while the Bag of Donuts will close out the dates on Nov. 18.
