An Afternoon with MusicMakers

More About An Afternoon with MusicMakers

The CSE Federal Credit Union will play it forward again by sponsoring the fifth annual Afternoon With MusicMakers on Saturday, May 19, in the Buccaneer Room of the Lake Charles Civic Center. An elegant catered reception and silent auction from 2 pm to 3 pm will precede the concert, which begins at 3 pm.

Featured performers will be a young group of the 400 MusicMakers, area students who have received instruments from MusicMakers2U, a nonprofit organization that accepts donations of musical instruments, refurbishes them and pairs them with area students. In addition, the more advanced high school and college aged Elite MusicMakers will also perform under the direction of Huber Mickey Smith, Jr.

Joining MusicMakers on the stage will be popular local trio Foot in the Door; Oak Park Middle School String Quintet, OPMS 2; and the LaGrange High School Vocal Ensemble.

Please join MusicMakers2U for a delightful afternoon featuring young local talent to keep the music playing in SWLA. All proceeds go to MusicMakers2U. Children 6 and under are admitted free. Tickets for general admission are $30. Tickets for students and adults over 60 are $20. Tickets are available at click for details, at Swicegood Music Store, Bearden's Music Store, at click for details or by calling the Civic Center Box Office at 337-491-1432 or MusicMakers at 337-244-9314.
