HCD's MOSTLY WALTZ (Old Wethersfield CT) Sun. 03/01/2020! [[[CANCELLED]]] Enjoy waltzing to live music music with - we welcome back the mostly-waltzy music of "Spare Parts" who are Liz Stell (flute) and Bill Matthiesen (fiddle and piano). This popular duo has been with us before—many enjoyable times. Come for a short beginner waltz lesson at 2:30 pm and then at 3, dance to live music! This is social dance, not at all competitive. Light refreshments are provided at the break.Mostly Waltz features waltzes, waltz mixers, and other couple dances like blues, swing, tango, and polka. As with most traditional dance, no partner is required and dancers typically change partner frequently. Beginners are welcome.
Admission is $15 at the door, $7 for students with ID.Mostly Waltz dances are at the Griffith Academy, 275 Main Street, Wethersfield, CT., 06109 with a beginner lesson 2:30-3:00 pm and dancing 3:00 - 5:30 pm. There are mini-lessons on some aspect of waltz (or another popular dance style) during the band break.We gather on first Sundays monthly from October to May to dance the afternoon away to beautiful live music by the Northeast's best musicians. Parking is free and easy. Come on out and join us!
