More About Civil War Weekend author talk & signing

From 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on July 14th, Mary Alice Barksdale and Donna Jessie Fogelsong, authors of "The Ride of Molly Tynes: A Tale Passed Down," will be hosting a book reading at Big Walker Lookout (8711 Stoney Fork Rd, Wytheville, VA 24382). These authors will read from their book, sign copies, and celebrate Civil War Weekend with their audience. The event is free and open to the public.

Book description:

When Molly Tynes learns of an impending attack on a neighboring town, she mounts her horse without hesitation, risking life and limb to warn and protect her community. Four mountains, rough trails, and wild animals stand between Molly and her journey’s end. Through this legendary tale of a courageous Civil War-era woman, the storytelling tradition of Southwest Virginia lives on.
