One of the core themes of Vibrant Acadiana and a top takeaway from One Acadiana’s recent Leadership Exchange trip to Pensacola is that "Capital follows people. People follow place. Place needs investment." That phrase was originated by James Lima of JLP+D, a New York City-based firm specializing in the economics of placemaking™.
While “placemaking” has become an understood and valued planning practice, many areas still face the challenge of proper investment in placemaking projects as critical infrastructure for healthy, thriving communities.
