Eli Lilly Engineering Youth Program

More About Eli Lilly Engineering Youth Program

Eli Lilly Engineering Exploring Post meets the 1st and 3rd wednesday of every month during the school year to help students learn about engineering careers in various disciplines and work environments. Typically one meeting per month is an activity and the other is a tour. Past activities have included mousetrap car contests, spaghetti bridge building, an activity related to pharmaceutical development, a circuit-building lab, and “CSI Indianapolis” where students have to use math, physics, and logic principles to solve a crime. Each activity is tied back to a concept important either in the study of engineering and engineering technology or situations a student may encounter in an engineering workplace (communications, making presentations, etc.). Tours take place at businesses in the Indianapolis area and have included such locations as behind the scenes at the Indianapolis Zoo, a local architecture and engineering firm, facilities under construction, a local Indy car racing team, and Lucas Oil Stadium.

MEETINGS: Will be held virtually until Covid-19 restrictions are lifted. Meetings take place the First and Third Wednesday of the Month from Oct-May from 6-7 PM

COST: $60
*Please note you do not have to pay the registration fee to attend the first meeting*

More About this Event Poster: Exploring- Boy Scouts of America

Exploring is a unique career exploration program for young men and women ages 10 to 20. The program provides students with an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of career fields and network with professionals already working in those fields.
Exploring is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth and the organization in their communities. Local organizations initiate an Explorer program by matching their staff and program resources to the interests of young people.
