  • Susquehanna Chorale Presents "Faith, Love, and Fancy | 8:00pm - 10:00pm | Arts and Entertainment
    Posted by Susquehanna Chorale

Susquehanna Chorale Presents "Faith, Love, and Fancy - The varied repertoire in the Chorales spring concerts will showcase the groups versatility, in unaccompanied works and pieces featuring the piano and string quartet.

Monteverdis Beatus Vir is a wonderful example of the elegant music that bridged the Renaissance and Baroque periods. In contrast, contemporary composer Ola Gjeilos Dark Night of the Soul, based on a mystical poem by St. John of the Cross, alternates between urgency and quiet exhilaration. Come Ready and See Me is a charming and wistful expression of the universal yearning for love, while Jenny Kissed Me expresses the happy lightness when love is found. The fanciful in life is represented by Tochs whimsical Geographical Fugue and Randy Newmans Short People. The Chorale returns to faith in its final piece, Shine the Heavenly Light, newly commissioned from Rollow Dilworth.

Join us for Faith, Love, and Fancy the elements of a full and happy life!
