  • | 11:00am - 7:00pm | Charity, Fundraiser, furever home, cat dog adoptions
    - Every pet deserves a warm home, especially for the holidays.

HSHA's annual Adopt-a-thon features drastically discounted pet adoptions - Dogs can make your house their FURever home for only $20, and Cats or Rabbits can join your family for only $10. Spay/Neuter surgery, microchip, and vaccinations are included, and all of our normal adoption procedures still apply.

We'll also have a concession stand at our Adoption Center with hot dogs, chips, soda, hot chocolate, and baked goods provided by our HSHA volunteers.

You also can shop at Furget-M-eNot, the HSHA retail store at our Adoption Center, for a holiday gift to spoil the furry friends in your life or for some basic supplies for your own fur-kids. Our prices are extremely competitive, and all proceeds go directly toward caring for the homeless animals at the shelter. Check out the sidebar to the left for a quick preview of our holiday items!

Blessed with what the New York Times described as a “beautiful countertenor,” singer Art Garfunkel has made an indelible mark on the music world as both a solo artist and half of the unrivaled Simon & Garfunkel. He has also enjoyed a successful film career, published a book of poetry and released 12 solo albums.

Garfunkel was originally revered for his GRAMMY-winning, chart-topping songs and albums with partner and fellow NYC native Paul Simon. Their greatest hits collection, which includes “Mrs. Robinson,” “Scarborough Fair,” “The Sound of Silence,” “The Boxer” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” among others, is one of the biggest selling albums ever.

Garfunkel continues doing what he does best: singing for an audience. “Taking on the fear and vulnerability of a live show keeps you vital,” says Garfunkel, who relishes the opportunity to perform new and classic material for fans around the world. “I’m a singer trying to get away with a lucky job. I try to soothe, to lift...That’s my life.”
