    - This war is also known as the First World War or the Great War. It was a global war originating in Europe that began on July 28th,1914 and lasted until November 11th,1918. The assignation of the Archduke Francis Ferdinand and his wife by a Serbian nationalist is what provoked this war. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, which was the formal beginning of the war.

  • | 10:00am - 2:00pm | Religious Events, Debenport, Unity on the River, speaker, spirituality, self help, mindfulness
    - At 10am on Sun. July 31, Unity on the River is pleased to welcome a great leader of spirituality, Rev. Ellen Debenport.

Ellen Debenport's first career was in journalism, working as a reporter for United Press International, then as political editor for the Tampa Bay Times. She was posted in Washington, D.C., when she began to feel a call to deeper spiritual exploration.

Ordained by Unity Worldwide Ministries in 1999, Ellen served as minister at the 1,000-member Unity of Dallas church, took a year off to write, then in 2009 became minister at Unity of Wimberley, a delightfully wacky town outside of Austin, Texas.

She is the author Hell in the Hallway, Light at the Door, about the spiritual path through change and transition, and also The Five Principles: A Guide to Practical Spirituality.

In addition to her weekly Sunday messages, Ellen speaks at Unity churches throughout the country and has hosted nearly 200 shows for Unity Online Radio with its 100,000 monthly listeners. She also teaches classes, leads workshops and conducts retreats for other spiritual-but-not-religious seekers. Her weekly blog reaches a growing international audience.

Rev. Debenport will also present a workshop at 12pm "Which Door will you Choose?" which is open to all.
