    Relay For Life of Norwin - Join the American Cancer Society and Norwin community as we come together for our 11th annual Relay For Life!

    Relay For Life is a free, 24-hour, community event dedicated to walking out cancer. Fundraising teams work to help the American Cancer Society raise money for their life-saving mission, and to work towards a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

  • Best Practices in Dementia Care; Learning to Give Care without the Fight - The Dementia Education Event
    For Family Members and Professionals
    Featuring nationally renowned dementia educator Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA speaking at Westmoreland Community College – Main Campus: Science Hall

    Session 1: 8:00am-11:45am
    Understanding Dementia: Seeing it from the Other Side (3 CEUs)

    Session 2: 12:30pm – 4:15pm
    Building Hands on Skills for Interaction and Communication (3 CEUs)

    This intensive, skills-based workshop is designed for family & professional caregivers who want to move from “dealing with” dementia related behaviors to creating a positive and partnering experience for the person in need of care. Learn care techniques that improve quality of life for the care recipient and the caregiver.
    Professional attendees completing this program are awarded three hours of continuing education credit per session, for a total of six possible credits, provided by Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES) for the following professions:
    • Social Workers (ASWB)
    • Nurses
    • Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselors (NBCC)
    • Approval for ALF/PCH Administrators is pending from the PA DPW
