Family Promise of Summit County helps homeless families with children stay together and achieve sustainable independence. An Affiliate of the national Family Promise organization, Family Promise of Summit County takes an innovative, integrated approach to serving this complex community. Leveraging the energies of a broad coalition of faith and community-based organizations, Family Promise meets the basic needs of homeless families with children. Then, with a professional social work staff, the program helps these families achieve lasting independence by addressing the root causes of their poverty and homelessness. Always at capacity, it is the only facility in Summit County that houses the entire family together regardless of age, gender, and marital status. Family Promise is so much more than a homeless shelter - providing supportive case management services and special on-site enrichment programs in addition to comfortable shelter, meals, vouchers, and supplies.

While there are other emergency homeless shelters in Summit County, Family Promise is the only program with the ability to keep the family together. In fact, it is the only program with an ability to serve single fathers with children and families with male children age 12+ regardless of parental structure.Family Promise fits into the bigger picture by providing services to an ever-growing segment of the homeless population who would otherwise be without services.
