Shine the Light Project Presents THE SOUND OF MUSIC May 3-5, 2024 at Uptown Social in Michigan City, IN
Come join STLP as we present one of the most empowering and heartwarming stories in history. The Sound of Music is based on the real-life story of the Von Trapp Family in 1938. Maria, a tomboyish postulant (nun-in-training) at an Austrian abbey, becomes a governess in the home of a widowed naval captain with seven children and brings a new love of life and music into the home. Eventually, Maria helps to heal the Captain's broken heart and supports him in his opposition to the German forces overtaking Europe. With classic songs like "Do Re Mi," "Climb Ev'ry Mountain," "Edelweiss," and "Sixteen Going on Seventeen," The Sound of Music is a beautiful tale of love, strength, and the power of music. “Follow every rainbow ’til you find your dream…”
