More About Brenda Grampsas: Quilt Labels

We’re celebrating textiles throughout March at the Horry County Museum! Join us March 5th at 11 AM for a program by Brenda Grampsas on labeling quilts. This program will go over why quilters should add a label, how to make and attach it, and what to include on the label. Your questions about quilt labels will be answered and your quilts will be valued more because of the addition of a simple label.
Brenda has a lifetime of sewing and quilting experience with a passion for all things quilted. Her experience in teaching the “how to” of quilting extends not only to adults but many years of quilting classes with children and teens. Watching others catch the “quilt bug” through her shared trunk shows, lectures and workshops feeds the natural teacher in her. She is inspired by quilts from many eras and is especially fascinated by scrap quilts because of their wide range of fabrics. Brenda is very involved in the restoration of quilts. Teaching others the art of restoration has become advantageous due to the many requests for restoration service. More information can be found on Brenda’s website Click for Details.
The program will be held at the Horry County Museum, located at 805 Main Street, Conway, SC. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 843-915-5320 or email hcg.museum@horrycounty.org. To view a full list of programs, visit our website at Click for Details.

More About Horry County Museum

The Horry County Museum was established in 1979 and opened its doors to the public in 1981. The Museum focuses on the history, pre-history, and natural history of Horry County, S.C., and educates the public about these subjects through exhibits, outreach programs, and events. In 2009, the Museum opened the L. W. Paul Living History Farm. The Farm is a re-creation of life on a one horse family farm between the years of 1900-1955. Visitors to the farm can experience what life was like in a farm community during those years and attend quarterly events at the Farm. In 2014, the Museum moved into the renovated 1905 Burroughs School. The school is on the National Register of Historic Places. The move includes increased exhibits, a freshwater aquarium featured on Animal Planet’s hit reality show “Tanked”, and a 600 seat auditorium that hosts public presentations and programs.
