More About Experience the Revolution! A Collaborative Living History Event
Step into the past and experience the sights, sounds, and stories of Revolutionary-era Connecticut at Experience the Revolution! a dynamic, family-friendly event on Saturday, May 2nd, celebrating 250 years of Middlesex Parish history.
Hosted across three historic sites—the Museum of Darien (10am-1pm), the Mather Homestead (2-4pm), and Highland Farm (all day)—this immersive day brings the American Revolution to life through engaging demonstrations and hands-on activities.
At the Museum of Darien, visitors will encounter members of the Fifth Connecticut Regiment in full period attire, presenting vivid vignettes of colonial life and artisan skills. A silhouette artist will also be on-site, creating hand-cut portraits in the historic tradition.
