More About CDE Cooperative Preschool

Chester, Deep River, Essex Co-Operative Nursery School (CDE) is a private, nonprofit preschool that has been proudly educating students in the tri-town and surrounding shoreline areas for over 70 years.

CDE students thrive with our optimal teacher/child ratio. By keeping classes small our staff is able to interact one-on-one with your child throughout the day, focusing on the individual potential of each child as they learn about our world. Through guidance, encouragement and support from our teachers students begin to acquire an enthusiasm for learning.

Our center-based classroom is designed to stimulate social, cognitive, physical, and emotional development for optimal skill building based on the hands-on theories of Piaget and Best Practice as defined in State and National Standards.

Play is an essential part of early leaning!

Play time not only teaches children how to problem solve but they gain confidence as they learn social skills such as cooperation, negotiation, the importance of sharing, and having respect for one another. While your child engages in play he or she will be building cognitive and social pathways that are critical to emotional development and academic success.

The CDE Co-Operative pre-school program encourages parent participation, hence building a strong school community where parents are stakeholders in their children's education program.
