Camille Thurman is a remarkable saxophonist, vocalist, composer and bandleader whose artistry bridges jazz tradition with a bold, contemporary voice.
A native New Yorker, Thurman made history as the first woman in three decades to tour and perform full-time with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra as a saxophonist and woodwind doubler. Her accolades include an NAACP Image Award nomination, two ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composers Awards and recognition in DownBeat’s Critics Poll as a rising star on both tenor saxophone and vocals.
