More About Project RIDE Inc.

Project R.I.D.E. offers therapeutic recreational horseback riding instruction to over 500 riders with disabilities. Our goal is to improve physical, emotional and social functioning through participation in a highly structured and safe program. Riders’ interaction with carefully selected and trained horses improves their balance, posture, flexibility, sensory awareness and endurance in addition to increasing confidence, self-esteem, self-discipline, motivation, attention span and integration with non-disabled peers.

There is a magic that occurs between horse and rider, forming a very strong bond, especially when the rider is in any way limited. For people with impaired mobility, horseback riding gently and rhythmically moves their bodies in a manner similar to a human walking gait. Riders with learning or mental disabilities are motivated by the interaction with their horses to concentrate more and develop patience and discipline. People with psychological, physical or emotional challenges have the special opportunity to form unconditional, meaningful relationships with the volunteers, their peers and the horses.

In addition to riding, we offer unmounted programs including our Horse Club and Equicizer. Please contact us to inquire about any of our equine-assisted programs at (916) 685-7433.

This non-mounted program held on Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30pm is available to anyone with special needs, but priority is given to participants who may not be able to participate in our mounted program for health or weight reasons. We will be doing arts and crafts, grooming and bathing horses, and working on social skills with a team of specially trained volunteers assisting. This program is ongoing and fees are $100 monthly. Why not consider a coupon or a promotional event? If you just need to keep yourself in the public eye you might want to think about placing an eye-catching full-color ad. You can choose your medium: the website, the mobile app, the weekly newsletter, our popular wall calendar, or any combination of the four.

Did you know that independent studies by the Verafast Corporation repeatedly show that at least 70% of all homeowners who receive our calendar keep and use it all year long? That's a phenomenal retention rate and makes sure that your business or organization is truly being put On Display Every Day.

With your account you'll also have the opportunity to post events that will appear on our website, in our weekly newsletter, and on our mobile app. Please remember that Town Planner is a franchise and all events are subject to approval by the local publisher in your area. As a general rule, our publishers are happy to accept non-profit events, but some publishers may have individual policies concerning for-profit events or events that compete with paying Town Planner sponsors. If you're uncertain about your event, please feel free to contact your local publisher to inquire about his or her policies prior to posting.

Remember too that we are a family friendly organization and reserve the right to reject any events that we deem inappropriate for our calendar or online media tools.
