Built in 1926, Indian Ridge Country Club in Hobart Indiana has provided Northwest Indiana golfers with a fun, challenging, and friendly place to enjoy the game of golf. The layout is a basic, old school golf course design. It has a variety of long and short holes with just enough trees and sand to keep it challenging. Due to the sand-based soil, the course drains very well. When other courses are to wet, Indian Ridge is most likely open for play.

The 27 hole facility consists of an 18 hole – par 71 – 6900 yard regulation course, and a 9 hole – par 30 – 1600 yard executive course. Both courses offer blue grass fairways and large penn cross bent grass greens. The course is generally flat with elevated greens and water coming into play on most holes.

Tom Bendelow, often called "The Johnny Appleseed of American Golf", was a famous Scottish American golf course architect during the early 20th century. He designed over 600 courses in just 35-years, using a "naturalist approach" to course design. In other words, he utilized the natural features of the site to the design advantage. Bendelow designed Pottawattomie Country Club in 1909. The course’s unique water hazards, towering oaks and maples, awe-inspiring tee shots, and gorgeous greens sliced from what once was sandy dunes, provide truly challenging play to all.
