More About Children's Mardi Gras Parade & Day
The 2027 Mardi Gras Children's Day takes place on Sunday, February 7, prior to the Children's Day Parade at the Lake Charles Event Center in the Exhibition Hall! Mardi Gras in Southwest Louisiana is a family-friendly festival and even has an entire day devoted to kids. Children’s Day, a free event, combines Mardi Gras fun with culture, music and learning.
Children’s Day includes exhibitions of performing arts, technology and science, safety and health, and arts and crafts—all interactive and hands-on. Typical activities for Children’s Day include an education station, making Mardi Gras arts and crafts while learning about the traditions and history of the carnival season and more. Groups present cultural and historic experiences of Mardi Gras. Children have the opportunity to take home free crafts from vendors and sponsors.
Don't miss the Children's Day Parade rolling at 3:30 PM on Sunday, February 7! After Children's Day activities, make plans for a quick lunch in downtown Lake Charles or secure a prime spot along the parade route.
