More About North American Butterfly Count

Become a community scientist and help count butterflies as they flutter by in the meadows of Greenwich Audubon Center!

Held each year on July 4th weekend, the Northern Westchester Butterfly Count is part of the North American Butterfly Association's series of Summer Butterfly Counts held nationwide. Data collected on how many of each butterfly species we see will give researchers a clear picture on the state of our butterfly populations and assist in their conservation efforts.

If you would like to join in counting efforts at the Greenwich Audubon Center between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. contact Ryan MacLean at ryan.maclean@audubon.org.

We will meet in the Greenwich Audubon Center lobby at 10 a.m. before heading outside for a brief introduction on butterfly identification and counting procedures.

Recommended for ages 6 and up
