More About Hit the Bricks - 5K Race/Walk & 3k Walk

The Zionsville Optimist Club (ZOC), will hold their 40th annual HIT-THE-BRICKS 5K/3K Run + Walk on Saturday, October 1, at 8:05am at the Zionsville Town Hall. “HIT-THE-BRICKS (HTB) is truly a tradition in Zionsville and the Optimist Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year”, says Tim Ottinger, ZOC President. “Those who know the ZOC know we are all about youth. We are a 100% volunteer organization and all proceeds go to local youth in Boone County.”

Ian Stewart and Cara Fausset, ZOC members and 2022 HTB Co-Chairs inform "This year we have an important update. New this year is our Start/Finish will be at Zionsville Town Hall. The town of Zionsville will offer parking at Town Hall and as always we will have the Zionsville Police Department direct traffic as well as sentries at many areas to assist”.

🟥HIT THE BRICK COURSES
Both the 5K and 3K courses still include sections on the popular Rail Trail, downtown through the Village on Main Street and back to Town Hall for the finish. The section on Zionsville’s cobblestone Main Street derived our “HIT-THE-BRICKS” title of the first event in 1982. At HTB, there are always serious contenders as well as casual runners & walkers out on a beautiful autumn morning.

🟦PRIZES
Prizes of the HTB 5K are given to the overall 1st-3rd place finishers for both male and female, as well as first place in several age categories as well.
