More About AADE 37th Kwanzaa Fest

Join the African American Dance Ensemble on January 1, 2023, for its 37th annual Kwanzaa celebration. Observing the principle Imani, which means Faith. To believe with all our hearts in our people and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.
The doors will open to the public at noon and the performances will begin at 2:00 pm at the historic Durham Armory. Kwanzaa appeals to a diverse audience, as AADE seeks to preserve and promote the fine traditions of African and African American dance and music to the broad community.
We also have a Children’s village with a drumming class and the first one hundred children will receive a “Davis goodie” bag filled with educational materials, toys, and coupons from local businesses. The gathering is both an open market for vendors and a performing arts concert. The concert is filled with dancing, singing, poetry, and more.
In honor of Baba Chuck Davis donated canned foods and toiletry items will be donated to the Urban Ministries of Durham.
