More About National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Event - Round Lake Beach

In an effort to help reduce easy access to unwanted medications and the potential for abuse, the Round Lake Beach Police Department will take part in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. An event sponsored by the DEA.

During that 4-hour period, residents can arrive at the police department by the flag poles (main entrance) to discard unwanted OTC or prescribed medications to the officers and or event volunteers.

***Syringes, liquids, lotion, or vape pens are NOT accepted at the event. However, the police lobby has a sharps bin. Sharps must be in appropriate sharps container and must fit in the bin. Check with local pharmacy for approved sharps disposal container.

Fact: At the conclusion of the previous Drug Take Back Day held in October 2022, a total of 4,340 law enforcement agencies participated with 4,902 collection sites and collected a total 647,163lbs of unwanted medications.
